Job Title:             Meat Department Sanitation

FLSA Status:       Hourly

Reports to:         Store Manager

 

Maintains cleanliness of the department in an effort to exhibit a clean store to our guests as well as to create a clean and safe work environment for other associates and guests.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform tasks that contribute to overall sanitation and cleanliness of the meat department that include:
  • Emptying garbage
  • Washing dishes
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces, such as ovens, dishwashers, racks, tables, counter tops, etc.
  • Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming the floor
  • Steam clean floors every five weeks
  • Clean all glass in all refrigeration units for meat display cases)
  • Clean and sanitize when necessary
  • Replace paper towels and toilet paper
  • Order and maintain cleaning supplies and tools
  • Clean fridge, sinks, floors and tables
  • Assist in shelf cleaning in the store four times per year
  • Perform light maintenance duties
  • Provide customer service to guests
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 

  • The employee must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly
  • This position requires the employee have the ability to have full range of upper body motion.  Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Exposure to cleaning products

 

WORK SCHEDULE

Meat Department Sanitation is a part-time hourly position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
